It was a day to celebrate for the 2009 graduates of the Australian Defence Force Academy in Canberra, with their graduation parade before the Governor-General as Commander-in-Chief. The Governor-General's standard was passed on to the graduating class of 2010 before the parade began.

On a sparkling day at the Royal Military College, Duntroon, the 2009 General Service Graduates paraded before their Commander-in-Chief the Governor-General. After taking the Vice Regal salute, Ms Bryce inspected the corps, and congratulated the graduating officers (see speech).
