It was a red-letter day at the Don Geddes Catalina Memorial Nursing Home at Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, when the Governor-General and Mr Bryce presented two service medals to 100 year old resident, Mr Albert Cullen. A Navy Stair Guard provided by Australia's Federation Guard paid tribute to Mr Cullen's 22 years of service with the Royal Australian Navy.

The Governor-General and Mr Bryce marked Seniors Week in the ACT and New South Wales with a visit to the Seniors Expo in Canberra. Ms Bryce found information on a range of activities and subjects, including palliative care, the University of the Third Age,knitting and gliding lessons.

The Governor-General and Mr Bryce greeted the President of the Republic of Indonesia,His Excellency Dr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Madam Yudhoyono at Fairbairn Airbase, before a meeting at Government House. Dr Yudhoyono was then appointed an Honorary Companion in the General Division of the Order of Australia.

Government House in Canberra provided a "pit stop" for around 30 cyclists taking part in the annual Tour de Kids cycling challenge. The 2010 Tour de Kids ride will span 1100 kilometres from Melbourne to Sydney through the Victorian and New South Wales Alps.

In Brisbane, the Governor-General joined the Prime Minister, Mr Kevin Rudd, the Governor of Queensland, HE Ms Penelope Wensley and the Premier of Queensland, Ms Anna Bligh and around 700 people in St John's Cathedral for a Thanksgiving and Remembrance service for the Australian Hospital Ship Centaur.
