The Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC, officially opens the new extended high-care facility at the Cabanda Aged Care Facility in Rosewood, Queensland

Residents and staff were excited to see the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as she officially opened the new extended high-care facility at the Cabanda Aged Care Facility in Rosewood, Queensland.

Hundreds of people gathered together and took the opportunity to meet Ms Bryce, who said the site was an example of volunteerism and community caring.

“[It’s] a local community stepping up to take responsibility for the wellbeing of its ageing citizens, and committing to the task for the long term; a partnership with the Rosewood community that has delivered vital residential aged care, day respite, and home-based services over the past 23 years and whose success is so evident today in the opening of your new high-care facility wing,” Ms Bryce said.
