The Governor-General opens the Toowoomba Languages and Cultures Festival

The Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE joined thousands of Toowoomba locals and visitors to celebrate a day of multiculturalism.
The Toowoomba Languages and Cultures Festival, held at Queens Park, was opened by Ms Bryce, who said it was an honest and joyous reflection of local life.
“A rich and fascinating montage of cultures and languages drawn from North-Western Europe, Northern and Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, Southern and Central Asia, the Americas, and this state and country; indeed, it is a proud snapshot of broader contemporary Australia,” Ms Bryce said.
