The Governor-General opens the Eastwood Early Childhood Centre in East Toowoomba

The changing shape of families and women’s role in society were highlighted by the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC, as she opened the Eastwood Early Childhood Centre in East Toowoomba.
“The greater economic need for women to participate in paid work has meant that child care has become one of the biggest issues for Australian families and social policy makers,” Ms Bryce said, commending the work done by Centre Director Katy Mason.
Families and their children met with Ms Bryce and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE after the opening.
