The Governor-General, as Commander-in-Chief, presents the 1AOSS Squadron Standard and the Governor-General's Banner to 27 Squadron

At RAAF Townsville, the Governor-General was the Reviewing Officer for the Colour Consecration Parade of the Number 1 Operations Support Squadron Standard and the presentation of the Governor-General’s Banner to Number 27 Squadron as part of the ceremony.

A Squadron Standard is awarded to operational squadrons of the RAAF with more than 25 years service or combat distinction, and the Governor General’s Banner is awarded to a non-operational unit in recognition of more than 25 years distinguished service.

Ms Bryce said members and officers of both Squadrons had provided essential support to ADF deployed elements and combat and expeditionary operations.

The Governor-General added that she admired and respected the professionalism and work done by the ADF personnel, which she had seen first-hand in Australia and overseas.
