Governors-General attend Diamonds v Silver Ferns netball game in Adelaide

The first game in a new trans-Tasman netball competition was played out in front of two Governors-General, and it was a close one.

Governor-General of Australia, Ms Quentin Bryce AC, and Governor-General of New Zealand, the Honourable Sir Anand Satyanand GNZM QSO, watched on as their respective teams, the Diamonds and the Silver Ferns, battled in the first of three games for the Constellation Cup at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

The Cup was launched by the Governors-General in front of a crowd of over 7000 people. On this occasion, the Diamonds just got ahead of the Silver Ferns, winning 48 to 43.
