Official unveiling of the National Service Memorial

The Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC, unveiled the new National Service Memorial at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, and paid her respects to the 212 National Servicemen who lost their lives fighting for Australia.

Ms Bryce laid a wreath at the Memorial, during a service attended by an estimated 6,000 people.

Ms Bryce and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE joined servicemen and their families after the unveiling.
