Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia's 'Leadership in Government Awards 2010'

Two senior public servants were acknowledged for their leadership and public administration at a ceremony at Government House.

Describing the recipients as standing “at the head and heart of our civilised society”, the Governor-General presented the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia’s 2010 Federal Government Leader of the Year award to Mr Andrew Metcalfe, Secretary of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.

Dr Wendy Southern, First Assistant Secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, was also presented the Outstanding Contribution in Public Administration Award.
