The Governor-General welcomed His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales KG to lunch at Admiralty House in Sydney, for the Prince's first official function during his tour of Australia.

Ms Bryce and Mr Bryce also welcomed a group of 20 prominent young Australians to the lunch, after drinks on the lawns on a sparkling Sydney day. The lunch guests included the Vice Captain of the Australian Test cricket team, Michael Clarke, actress Lucy Durack, Young Australian of the Year in 2007, Tania Major, and singer Delta Goodrem.
