Continuing her long-term connection with the Australian National University, the Governor-General installed the Honourable Professor Gareth Evans AO QC as the Chancellor of the ANU at a ceremony at the John Curtin School of Medical Research.

Ms Bryce paid tribute to Professor Evans' involvement in international human rights, and joined the ANU's Vice Chancellor, Professor Ian Chubb AC, in welcoming the new Chancellor.
