The Governor-General's continued interest in the flight against malaria, HIV/AIDs and tuberculosis prompted a meeting with the Executive Director of the Global Fund, Professor Michel Kazatchkine at Admiralty House in Sydney.

Professor Kazatchkine presented Ms Bryce with a copy of "Mauvais air", a collection of photographs of victims of malaria, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDs in Africa and Asia. Grants from the Global Fund encourage programs such as the provision of mosquito nets to prevent malaria.
