Ms Bryce met Mr Martin Pash, one of three living survivors of the sinking of the Centaur in May 1943. The Service marked the passing of the 268 people who died when the Centaur was destroyed, and the 64 people who survived. The families of those who died gathered at the service and for lunch afterwards. They included the Leask brothers, L to R,Ted, Jim, Peter, Alec, Laurie and John, who remembered their three uncles who died on the Centaur. The wreck of the Centaur was located in December last year, at a depth of 2059 metres, approximately 30 nautical miles east of Moreton island.
