In Canberra, the Governor-General officiated at the swearing in of Ministers Penny Wong and Peter Garrett.

Ms Wong was sworn in as Minister for Climate Change, Energy Efficiency and Water, and Mr Garrett was sworn in as Minister for Environment Protection, Heritage and the Arts.
