The annual meeting of country people and city people in Sydney was acknowledged by the Governor-General when she officially opened the Royal Easter Show.

After being escorted to the Showground by mounted police in the traditional caleche, Ms Bryce inspected the Royal Guard, before officially opening the 2010 Royal Easter Show. Later, the Governor-General visited the District exhibition, to see the imaginative use of grains, pulses, fruit and vegetables, and talk to exhibitors.
