The Governor-General visited troops at the Al Minhad Base near Dubai, where she had afternoon tea with around 100 troops.

Greeted by the Base Commander, Major General John Cantwell, Ms Bryce told the troops that they would be uppermost in her thoughts on Anzac Day. As Commander-in-Chief, she discussed troop movements in Afghanistan, including the reconstruction work which she had seen on her visit to the Tarin Kowt base in January 2009.
