The Governor-General and Mr Michael Bryce, who is patron of the NSW branch, attended the opening ceremony, which Ms Bryce described as an historic milestone for the organisation.

"You have always been there and, unconsciously, we expect that you always will," she said.

Ms Bryce and Mr Bryce were both given a tour of the new facility, which included the communications room.
