Asia-Pacific issues, including the effort to reduce poverty, empower women and support traditional economies and agriculture will be discussed during a conference opened by Governor-General Ms Quentin Bryce AC in Sydney.

16 June 2010

Leaders of economic, financial and humanitarian organisations came together for the opening reception of the Lowy Institute’s "Advancing Innovative Development Aid Strategies in the Asia-Pacific: Accelerating the Millennium Development Goals" conference.

Ms Bryce said Australians felt connected with their Asia-Pacific neighbours, and the conference demonstrated collaboration between a network of individual, government, non-government, private and philanthropic sectors.
