On Saturday 5 July 2008 in Darwin, NT, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, as Commander-in-Chief of the Australian Defence Force, reviewed the Welcome Home Parade for 1st Brigade members who had served in either the Al Muthanna Task Group, Overwatch Battle Group (West) or the Australian Army Training Team – Iraq.
