The Governor-General designate, Ms Quentin Bryce AC, left Government House to attend a ceremony at Parliament House where she will be sworn-in as the 25th Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia.

At Parliament House, Canberra, Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE attended a ceremony at which Ms Bryce was sworn-in as the twenty-fifth Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia.

At Sir Thomas Blamey Square, Russell Offices, Their Excellencies attended a ceremony at which the Australian Defence Force formally farewelled the Governor-General as Commander-in-Chief.

At Government House, Canberra, Their Excellencies received the Chief Commissioner of Scouts Australia, Mr John Ravenhall AM and members of the Scouts National Executive. Mr Ravenhall presented the Governor-General with the Silver Kangaroo award for eminent achievement and meritorious service to Scouts Australia.
