PROROGATION OF PARLIAMENT

15 October 2007

The Official Secretary to the Governor-General, Mr Malcolm Hazell CVO, at noon today will read the Prorogation Proclamation made by the Governor-General, acting under section 5 of the Constitution.

Parliament will be prorogued from 12 noon until Saturday, 24 November 2007.

In accordance with convention, immediately before noon, the proclamation will be read in front of the Great Verandah at the main entrance at Parliament House.
