Wednesday 21 November - Christmas Morning Tea for Legacy Widows
Tomorrow, at 10.30am, the Governor-General and Mrs Jeffery are hosting a Christmas Morning Tea for Legacy Widows. Legacy assists widows of deceased veterans who have served in a war or operational area or whose death was occasioned by hazardous service or training for war. Around 250 guests are expected to attend. They will be entertained by Mr Colin Slater and the Sing Australia Ladies Colour Choir.

Thursday 22 November - Christmas Party for Children with Special Needs

On Thursday, at 12 noon, the Governor-General and Mrs Jeffery are hosting a Christmas Party for children with special needs. The children will be treated to a visit by Santa, face-painting, a jumping castle and rides in a range of vehicles supplied by the Antique and Classic Car Club of Canberra. Around 250 children with their parents and carers are expected to attend.

By the end of the week some 1000 special needs children and their carers would have attended Christmas parties hosted by Their Excellencies at Admiralty House in Sydney and Government House in Canberra.
