ADMIRALTY HOUSE HARBOUR WALL

28 July 2008

Engineers are currently assessing the condition of part of the Admiralty House Harbour wall which has recently started to break away.

The wall, which is believed to have been built in the late 19th century, faces considerable wear from its exposure to the harbour.

As soon as the damage was detected, safety rails and signs were installed on the property to protect guests and staff. Additional signage is also being prepared to alert passing craft on the harbour.

Once the engineer’s report has been received and considered, work will begin on repairs to preserve this heritage wall and to ensure the safety of passers by.
