STATEMENT FROM THE OFFICIAL SECRETARY

I will be moving on from my position as Official Secretary to the Governor-General, a position I have been proud to hold since May 2003.

I have had the privilege and pleasure of serving two Governors-General in their high office. This has been a high point in my public service career of some thirty-six years.

In so doing I have had the loyal and capable support of my staff. I thank them for their friendship and support, and particularly the work my current staff continue to do in serving the office of Governor-General.

I wish the newly-appointed Governor-General and her husband every good wish for the future, as I do my successor.
