MEDIA ADVISORY: Governor-General to visit Vanuatu for 30th Anniversary of Independence

The Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC, and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE will visit Port Vila, Vanuatu from Thursday, July 29 to Friday, July 30 to represent Australia at the Republic of Vanuatu's 30th Anniversary of Independence celebrations.
The Governor-General will attend a Flag Raising Ceremony as part of the 30th Anniversary of Independence celebrations.
The Governor-General will also lay the foundation stone of the National Archives and Library Building in Port Vila, which is a gift from Australia to the people of the Republic of Vanuatu on the occasion of the 30th anniversary. The Governor-General will also visit the Vanuatu Women’s Centre.

- Thursday, July 29:
- 5.45 pm: The Governor-General will visit the Vanuatu Women’s Centre in Port Vila
- Friday, July 30:
- 8.45 am: The Governor-General will attend the Flag Raising Ceremony to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Vanuatu at Independence Park, Port Vila.
- 3.00 pm: The Governor-General lays the foundation stone of the National Archives and Library Building in Port Vila.
