MEDIA ADVISORY: Children's Christmas Parties

 GOVERNMENT HOUSE AND ADMIRALTY HOUSE

The media is invited to cover the annual children’s Christmas Parties which will be held at the Governor-General’s residences, Admiralty House in Sydney, and Government House in Canberra. Both events will be “picfacs” only.

The party at Government House in Canberra, on November 23^rd, will be attended by around 1200 children, parents and carers, and will feature tethered hot air balloon rides (courtesy of the RAAF), laughing clowns, vintage car rides and a petting zoo. Father Christmas will interrupt his busy schedule to make surprise appearances in both Canberra and Sydney.

The party in Sydney, on November 29^th,will be attended by children, parents and carers on each day. There will be a range of fun activities, including a jumping castle, face painting and magicians, and the run of the Admiralty House gardens.

Sausage sandwiches, icy poles, fairy bread and fruit juice will be available to the media.

TIME: Government House: 11.00am to 3.00pm; Admiralty House: 9.00am to 4.00pm

DATES: Canberra: 23^rd November; Sydney: 29^th November
