MEDIA ADVISORY: GOVERNOR-GENERAL CONGRATULATES PRINCE WILLIAM ON ROYAL ENGAGEMENT

The Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE congratulated His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales KG, on his engagement to Miss Catherine Middleton during a meeting in Zurich today.
His Highness called on Ms Bryce for a brief meeting, between their engagements supporting their separate bids to host the World Cup.
The UK has bid to host the Cup in 2018, and Ms Bryce will lead Australia’s World Cup team later today (GMT) in the bid to host the 2022 Cup.
Ms Bryce and Prince William reminisced about his visit to Australia in January this year, where he joined the Governor-General for lunch and remained at Admiralty House for several days to fulfill engagements in Sydney.
