MESSAGE FROM THEIR EXCELLENCIES THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL
AND MRS MARLENA JEFFERY

My wife Marlena and I are greatly saddened to learn of the loss of life and property following the severe bushfires on the Eyre Peninsula recently.

We particularly extend our heartfelt sympathies to those who have lost loved ones at this time and hope that you will find consolation from the knowledge that Australians everywhere are thinking of you and your families.

Thank you too, to all those who have volunteered or given their services to help those in distress. Your selflessness and acts of kindness are what help make this nation great.
