The Governor-General, Sir William Deane, and Lady Deane have expressed their great sadness at the loss of life in the tragic Glenbrook train accident.

We extend our deep sympathy to the families and loved ones of the victims. It is especially sad when such a loss occurs when families are looking forward to Christmas, the New Year and the holiday season," the Governor-General said.
