On Monday, 30 September 2002, at Twin Towns Services Club, Tweed Heads, New South Wales, the Governor-General, Dr Peter Hollingworth and Mrs Hollingworth, attended a ceremony, at which Dr Hollingworth as Patron of Transplant Australia, officially opened the National Transplant Games; and afterwards attended a Luncheon as guests of the Executive Director, Mr Mark Cocks.

On Monday, 23 September 2002, at RAAF Flying Training School Memorial, Uranquinty, NSW, the Governor-General, Dr Peter Hollingworth, and Mrs Hollingworth attended a Memorial Service at which Dr Hollingworth delivered an address and together with Mrs Hollingworth laid a wreath. Then, at the relocated Uranquinty Cenotaph, Dr Hollingworth unveiled a plaque and planted a commemorative tree.
