On Thursday, 27 September 2007, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General, His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC received from His Excellency Mr Filippos Kritiotis, Letters of Commission accrediting him as High Commissioner for the Republic of Cyprus. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Eleftherios Pilavakis (First Secretary), High Commission for Cyprus. The Governor-General and Mrs Jeffery also received Mrs Andromachi Kritiotou.

Somare GCL GCMG CH CF KStJ, Prime Minister of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea. The Prime Minister was accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Immigration, the Honourable Sam Abal, MP; Parliamentary Secretary for Education, the Honourable David Arore, MP; Chief Secretary to Government, Ambassador Mr Isaac Lupari; High Commissioner for Papua New Guinea, His Excellency Mr Charles Lepani; Acting Director General State Protocol, Ms Joan Vanariu MBE; and Official Secretary to the Governor-General of Papua New Guinea, Mr Tipo Vuatha LVO MBE. Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Jeffery hosted the Prime Minister to luncheon.
