Open Day at Government House

10am - 2pm, Saturday 16 March 2019

The Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove pose for a photograph with guests at Government House Open Day

Open Day at Government House is your opportunity to go beyond the gates and discover the house and gardens of Australia’s Vice-Regal residence.
Throughout the day, the Governor-General, Lady Cosgrove, Government House staff and volunteers from the Australiana Fund will be on hand to answer your questions and share perspectives of life at one of Australia’s most iconic residences.
With free entry, and both the house and gardens available for you to explore at leisure, Government House Open Day is an ideal day out for the entire family.
To help make the most of your visit, please note:
  • While a range of food and beverage providers will be on site, you’re  welcome - and encouraged - to bring a picnic lunch and relax within the grounds.
  • Given the popularity of Government House Open Day, please arrive early to minimise delays. All visitors will be subject to security checks on entry. Sharp instruments are not permitted.
  • Entry and parking are free. Government House Open Day is  an accessible event, with both the house and gardens suitable for visitors with mobility impairments.
