Burpengary, QLD; Brighton, QLD

On Monday 10 October 2016, at Buchanan Park, Burpengary, the Governor-General, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd), and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President of the Burpengary Community War Memorial Association, Mr David Bennett OAM, laid a floral tribute at the Burpengary War Memorial.

Afterwards, at Burpengary State School, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the Principal, Mr Brad Fox, met with students from preparatory to year 6, where the Governor-General also addressed the school at an assembly.

Later, at Sandgate and Districts Men’s Shed, Brighton, the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove, as guests of the President, Mr Les Batson, viewed the facility and met with members of the shed.
