On Wednesday 30 September 2020, at Government House, Canberra, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) received His Excellency Mr Christophe Penot, Ambassador of the French Republic, for a farewell call.
Afterwards, the Governor-General received Dr Alex Lim, Consultant, ZedThree Group, and Mr Ken Lloyd OAM, Co-Founder, Integra Service Dogs.
Later, the Governor-General received members of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety to receive their special report on the response to COVID-19 in aged care: The Honourable Tony Pagone QC, Chair; Lynelle Briggs AO, Commissioner; and Dr James Popple, Official Secretary.
Then, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley hosted an Investiture Ceremony and lunch for the Honourable Chief Justice Catherine Holmes AC. Guests included: Dr Anne Holmes, Dr Rosemary Holmes and Dr Arthur Preston.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as Patron, received a phone call from Mr Richard Potok, Chief Executive Officer, Aurora Education Foundation.
Afterwards, the Governor-General met with the HOM-designate to the State of Israel via video conference.
Later, the Governor-General met with His Excellency Dr Geoff Shaw, Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, for mid-term consultations via video conference.
