On Friday 29 September 2023, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley, as guests of Commissioner Reece Kershaw APM, attended a commemoration service for National Police Remembrance Day at the National Police Memorial.

Afterwards, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley, as guests of Commissioner Kershaw, attended a reception at the Australian Federal Police College.
