On Thursday 12 September 2024, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, presided at a meeting of the Federal Executive Council. 

Then, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, hosted an Investiture Ceremony for Order of Australia Honours, Conspicuous Service Decorations, and Meritorious Service Awards. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General hosted a lunch for the Honourable Julie Bishop.   

Then, the Governor-General received Ms Shelley Reys AO, Chair, Council for the Order of Australia. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, hosted an Investiture Ceremony for Order of Australia Honours, Conspicuous Service Decorations, Meritorious Service Awards, and Australian Bravery Decorations.
