On Wednesday 18 September 2024, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC received Letters of Credence accrediting Her Excellency Ms Esther Monterrubio Villar as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Montserrat Momàn Pampillo, Deputy Head of Mission; Mr Ignacio Boloix Piero, Counsellor; and Captain Ernesto Zarco Gil, Defence Attaché. 

Then, the Governor-General met with students and teachers from Singleton Primary School, Singleton, Western Australia, as they undertook a tour of Government House.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as guest of Mr Brendan Moon AM, Co-ordinator General, attended the NEMA Higher Risk Weather Season Summit.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General participated in a pre-recorded interview with Ms Georgia Stynes, ABC Canberra.

Then, the Governor-General received Ms Emma McKeon AM, 2024 Young Australian of the Year, and Mr David McKeon.

Afterwards, the Governor-General recorded a video message for Global Sisters, Sister Pitch 2024.

Later, the Governor-General received Commissioner Tom Rogers and Deputy Commissioner Jeff Pope, Australian Electoral Commission.

In the evening, the Governor-General, as guest of Professor Tanya Monro AC, Chief Defence Scientist, attended the ADSTAR Gala Dinner.
