On Wednesday 20 August 2025, Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, met with Council members of the Order of Australia. 

Then, the Governor-General received His Excellency Tim Mawe, Ambassador of Ireland and his spouse Ms Patricia McCarthy. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General hosted a morning tea for Bangladeshi journalists participating in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Canberra Fellowship Program 2025. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received Mr Andrew Shearer, Director-General, Office of National Intelligence. 

In the evening, the Governor-General, as guest of Mr Andrew Phelan AM, Australian Capital Territory Branch Chair, Order of Australia Association, attended Student Awards.
