On Thursday 18 September 2025, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, presided over the Federal Executive Council with the Honourable Anika Wells MP and the Honourable Matt Thistlethwaite MP.

Then, the Governor-General met with students and teachers from Pacific Lutheran College, as they undertook a tour of Government House.

Afterwards, the Governor-General received Letters of Credence, accrediting His Excellency Mr Klass Fredrik Molin as the Ambassador of Sweden. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Carina Engman, First Secretary, Lieutenant Colonel Jan Eldeblad, Defence Attache, and Mr Sebastian Raneskold, Honorary Consul – Adelaide, Embassy of

 Sweden. 

Later, the Governor-General received Letters of Credence, accrediting His Excellency Mr Karl Eugene Stouthuysen as the Ambassador of Belgium. The Ambassador was accompanied by his spouse, Mr Johan Schroons, Mr Julien Lecomte, Deputy Head of Mission and Mr Vivien Sierens, First Secretary, Royal Belgian Embassy. 

Then, the Governor-General received Letters of Credence, accrediting Her Excellency Ms Samija Serifa as the Ambassador of Latvia. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Egija Eglite, Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Latvia.

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students and teachers from Trinity Gawler River, as they undertook a tour of Government House. 

Later, the Governor-General received Letters of Credence, accrediting Her Excellency Ms Fiona Flood as the Ambassador of Ireland. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Marie-Claire Hughes, First Secretary, Ms Lorraine Christian, Consul General of Ireland – New South Wales, and Mr Marty Kavanagh, Honorary Consul for Ireland – Perth, Embassy of Ireland.

Then, the Governor-General received Letters of Credence, accrediting Her Excellency Mrs Sarojini Seeneevassen, High Commissioner for Mauritius. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Miss Prema Appadu, First Secretary, High Commission of the Republic of Mauritius. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General hosted a lunch for newly accredited Heads of Missions. Guests included: Her Excellency Ms Betty Bernardica Pavelich, representing the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, and Ambassador of Croatia; His Excellency Mr Karl Eugene Stouthuysen, Ambassador of Belgium and his spouse Mr Johan Schroons; Her Excellency Ms Samija Serifa, Ambassador of Latvia and Ms Egija Eglite, Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Latvia; Her Excellency Mrs Sarojini Seeneevassen, High Commissioner for Mauritius and Miss Prema Appadu, First Secretary, High Commission of the Republic of Mauritius; His Excellency Mr Klass Fredrik Molin, Ambassador of Sweden and Ms Carina Engman, First Secretary, Embassy of Sweden; His Excellency Mr Samuelu Laloniu, High Commissioner for Tuvalu; Her Excellency Ms Fiona Flood, Ambassador of Ireland and Ms Lorraine Christian, Consul General, Embassy of Ireland; Ms Harinder Sidhu AM, Deputy Secretary – International Security, Legal and Consular Group, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, representing the Foreign Minister; Mr Gerard Martin PSM, Official Secretary to the Governor-General; Mr Johnathan Muir, Chief of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Mr Daniel Kolek, Office of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General; and Flight Lieutenant Danie Bunting, Aide-de-Camp to the Governor-General.

Then, the Governor-General met with visitors as they undertook a garden tour at Government House. 

Afterwards, at Sydney Airport, the Governor-General was represented by Brigadier Phillip Bridie AM ADC, Honorary Aide-de-Camp, for the arrival into Australia of Their Majesties King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u, Kingdom of Tonga.

Later, the Governor-General received Letters of Credence accrediting His Excellency Mohamed Luveiz as the High Commissioner for Maldives. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Lamha Saleem, Second Secretary, High Commission for the Republic of Maldives in Singapore.

Then, the Governor-General received Ms Silai Zaki, Australia’s Consul-General in Chennai, India.
