On Wednesday 15 October 2025, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, received Letters of Credence, accrediting Her Excellency Mrs Patricia Mabel Terán Basso as the Ambassador of Ecuador. The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms. Manuela Rosalía Fernández De Córdova Arteaga, Counsellor and Mr. Andrés Fabricio Jáuregui Pelaes, First Secretary. 

Then, the Governor-General, received Letters of Credence, accrediting His Excellency Irfan Shaukat as High Commissioner to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Ms Raazia Rana, spouse, Brigadier Bilal Mahmood, Defence Adviser, Ms Faiza Haseeb, Deputy Head of Mission and Mr Yawar Abbas, Counsellor. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General, received Letters of Credence, accrediting Her Excellency Mr James Clifford Borg-Marks as the High Commissioner of Malta. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Ms Jin Fan, Spouse and Mr Mark Anthony, Deputy High Commissioner.                        

In the afternoon, the Governor-General hosted a lunch for newly accredited Heads of Missions. Guests included: His Excellency James Clifford Borg-Marks, High Commissioner Malta, and Ms Jin Fan, Spouse; Her Excellency Patricia Mabel Teran Basso, Ambassador, Ecuador and Ms. Manuela Rosalía Fernández De Córdova Arteaga, Counseller, Ecuador; His Excellency Irfan Shaukat, High Commissioner, Pakistan and Ms Raazia Rana, Spouse; Ms Soo-jin Rhee, UNHCR Representative; Mr George Mina, Deputy Secretary, Trade and Investment Group, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, representing the Foreign Minister; Mr Gerard Martin PSM, Official Secretary to the Governor-General; Mr Johnathan Muir, Chief of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Mr Rob Dabrowski, Office of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General; and CAPT Katie Higgins, Aide-de-Camp to the Governor-General. 

In the evening, the Governor-General, hosted a reception for Solider On.
