On Wednesday 10 December 2025, the Governor-General, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, conducted a tri-lateral video call with Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor-General of Canada, and Her Excellency the Right Honourable Dame Cindy Kiro, Governor-General of New Zealand.
Then, at Government House, Canberra, the Governor-General met students and teachers from Lumen Christi College, Martin, Western Australia, as they undertook a tour of Government House.
Afterwards, the Governor-General, received Letters of Credence, accrediting His Excellency Mr Abdul Kareem Toma Mehdi Kaab as the Ambassador of Iraq. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Yarub Al-Anpaqi, and Mr Raeed Duraid Hassen Al-Fadhli, Counsellors, Embassy of Iraq.
Later, the Governor-General, received Letters of Credence accrediting Her Excellency Ms Monika Tomašovicová as the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic. The Ambassador was accompanied by her spouse, Mr Mojmir Tomašovič, and Mrs Michaela Sulakova, Third Secretary, Embassy of the Slovak Republic.
Then, the Governor-General, received Letters of Credence accrediting Her Excellency Mrs Mirna Khawly as the Ambassador of Lebanon. The Ambassador was accompanied by her spouse, Mr Abdel Khalek Ghassan.
Afterwards, the Governor-General, received Letters of Credence accrediting Her Excellency Ms Gilma Moreira Lino as the Ambassador of Cuba. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs Ivianes Danay Gonzales Llanes, Third Secretary, and Mr Fabian Rodriguez Moreira, Attache, Embassy of Cuba.
In the afternoon, the Governor-General, received Letters of Credence accrediting Her Excellency Ms Doris Adzo Denyo Brese as the High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mrs Betty Osafo Mensah, Minister, Mr Joseph Okai, Minister, and Mr Stanley Famiah, Minister-Counsellor, Ghana High Commission.
Then, the Governor-General hosted a lunch for newly accredited Heads of Missions. Then, the Governor-General received His Excellency Mr Andrew Martin, Australian Ambassador to Chile.
In the evening, at the Canberra Museum and Gallery, the Governor-General, as guest of Dr Victoria Kelly-Clark, Public Diplomacy, Press and Information Advisor, Delegation of the European Union to Australia, attended the exhibition ‘LOVING: Photographs of Men in Love’.
