On Thursday 5 February 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, presided over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council with Senator the Honourable Tim Ayres and Senator the Honourable Jenny McAllister.

Then, the Governor-General met students and teachers from St Joan of Arc Primary School, Brighton, Victoria, during a tour of Government House.  

Afterwards, the Governor-General received the Honourable Michelle O'Byrne, Ambassador for Gender Equality, at Government House.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as guest of Dr Marie-Louise Ayres, Director-General, attended “Living in the Seventies” Exhibition at the National Library of Australia.

Then, the Governor-General recorded a video messages for the Lunar New Year Parliamentary Reception for the Federation of Chinese Associations in the ACT and the Civics and Citizenship Profession Development for SA department of Education.
