On Wednesday, 4 March 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, received the Honourable Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister of Australia, at Government House, Canberra.

Then, the Governor-General met students and teachers from The Cathedral School of St Anne & St James, Aitkenvale, Queensland, as they undertook a tour of Government House. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General hosted a roundtable meeting and a reception for the Centre of Policy Development at Government House, Canberra. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General met students and teachers from St Pius X College, Chatswood, New South Wales, as they undertook a tour of Government House. 

In the evening, the Governor-General, and His Excellency Mr Simeon Beckett SC, as guest of His Excellency Mr Suzuki Kazuhiro, Ambassador of Japan, attended the 50th Anniversary of the Signing of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Co-operation between Japan and Australia, and the Emperor’s Birthday reception, at the Embassy of Japan, Canberra.
