On Wednesday, 8 April 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, recorded the 2026 Anzac Day address, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra. 

Then, the Governor-General, as guest of Karen Doran PSM, Chief Executive, National Capital Authority, attended the 100th Birthday Commemoration of Queen Elizabeth II, at The National Carillon, Canberra.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, met students and teachers from Mandurah Catholic College, Mandurah, Western Australia, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, met students and teachers from Colonel Light Gardens Primary School, Colonel Light Gardens, South Australia, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.

Then, the Governor-General received Assistant Commissioner Nigel Ryan APM, Australian Federal Police. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as Patron, Girl Guides Australia, and guest of Christine Butler, Gilr Guides Region Manager Australian Capital Territory and south-east New South Wales, attended the Girl Guides Youth Awards at Yarralumla Guide Hall.
