On Thursday 7 May 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC attended a videocall with Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor-General of Canada, and Her Excellency the Right Honourable Dame Cindy Kiro, Governor-General of New Zealand.

Then, the Governor-General met students and teachers from Ivanhoe Grammar, Ivanhoe, Victoria, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra. 

Afterwards the Governor-General recorded video messages for: Commonwealth Games Celebration of Oceania; 10th Anniversary of Community Corporate; National Volunteer Week; and National Road Safety Week. 

Later, the Governor-General and His Excellency Mr Simeon Beckett SC, received Sir William Deane, Former Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia and Lady Helen Deane at Government House, Canberra. 

Then, the Governor-General met students and teachers from Penleigh and Essendon Grammar Boys School, Essendon, Victoria, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General, as Patron and guest of Cheryl O’Donnell, Chief Executive Officer, conducted a visit of the new Police and Community Youth Club in Turner. 

Then, the Governor-General met students and teacher from Perthville Public School, Perthville, New South Wales, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra. 

In the evening, the Governor-General hosted a reception for Cumberland Returned Services League Sub-Branch members and the Australian American Association at Government House, Canberra.
