On Friday 8 May 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC received Ms Amanda Riethmuller, Australian Head of Mission Delegate to Kuwait at Government House, Canberra. 

Then, the Governor-General, as guest of Commissioner Darren Klemm, President, The Australasian Fire and Emergency Services Authorities Council, attended the 2026 National Fire and Emergency Services Memorial Service at the National Emergency Services Memorial in Parkes. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General received His Excellency Sonam Tobgay, Bhutanese Ambassador to Australia. 

Later, the Governor-General received Ms Alison Frame, Secretary and Mr Nick Booth, Special Advisor, Department of Veterans’ Affairs. 

In the evening, the Governor-General as Patron, and His Excellency Mr Simeon Beckett SC, as guests of Ms Carrie Leeson, Chief Executive Officer, Lifeline Canberra, attended the 2026 Lifeline Gala Dinner at the Arboretum, Molonglo Valley.
