On Wednesday 24 June 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, as guest of Ms Amy Crawford, Chief Executive Officer, attended the 2026 Australian Local Government Association’s National General Assembly at the National Convention Centre, Canberra where she delivered the opening address and met with various Mayors of councils. 

In the afternoon, the Governor-General received Mr Leon Kempler OAM, National Chairman, Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce. 

Then, the Governor-General received Councillor Steve Krieg, Mayor, and Mr Eber Butron, General Manager, Lismore City Council. 

In the evening, the Governor-General, as Patron, hosted a reception for the Australian Local Government Women’s Association’s 75th anniversary, at Government House, Canberra.
