On Wednesday 12 August 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, hosted Senators of the Australian Federal Parliament, at which the Governor-General received the Address-in-Reply from the President of the Senate, Senator the Honourable Ms Sue Lines. 

Then, the Governor-General received Mr Luke Arnold, Assistant Secretary, Timor-Leste Branch, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students and teachers from Palmview State Primary School, Palmview, Queensland, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra. 

Later, the Governor-General received Her Excellency Ms Maria Fernanda Lay, President of the National Parliament of Timor-Leste and delegation members. 

Then, the Governor-General met with students and teachers from Fairholme College, Toowoomba, Queensland, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General met with students and teachers from Annandale North Public School, Annandale, New South Wales, as they undertook a tour of Government House. 

Then, the Governor-General received Dr Nick Mitzevich, Director of the National Gallery of Australia, Dr Deborah Hart, Head Curator Australian Art and Ms Elspeth Pitt, Senior Curator Australian Art. 

Afterwards, the Governor-General met with students and teachers from Currambena Primary School, Lane Cove, New South Wales, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.

Later, the Governor-General was interviewed by Ms Amanda Hooton, for the Good Weekend, to be published in The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age.

Then, the Governor-General received Lieutenant Commander Andrew Jocumsen CSC RAN and Ms Neala Jocumsen. 

In the evening the Governor-General hosted a reception for the Diplomatic Corp celebration of ‘1 Year to Go’ until the Netball World Cup in 2027.
