On Tuesday 1 September 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, met with students and teachers from North Rocks Public School, New South Wales, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.

Then, the Governor-General, on National Wattle Day, hosted a commemoration and morning tea for the 25th Anniversary of the Opening of the Bravery Garden, at Government House, Canberra.

Afterwards, the Governor-General, as guest of Ms Sarah Fletcher, Science Specialist Teacher, Bonython Primary School, attended the Australian National University Primary Schools Enrichment event at the Australian National University, Canberra.

Later, the Governor-General met with students and teachers from Port Douglas State School, Queensland, as they undertook a tour of Government House, Canberra.

In the afternoon, the Governor-General recorded video messages for National Child Protection Week; World Suicide Prevention Day; Gidget Foundation Gala Dinner; and UN Women’s Women in Leadership Summit.
