On Tuesday 08 September 2026, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, received His Excellency Mr Sekiguchi Masakazu, President of the Japanese Senate, and delegation at Government House, Canberra.

Then, the Governor-General, as Chancellor of the Order of Australia, hosted an Investiture Ceremony for Australian Honours at Government House, Canberra.

Afterwards, the Governor-General recorded a video message for Mr Gefen Bitton for the Keys to the City presentation for Waverly Council at Government House, Canberra.

In the evening, the Governor-General hosted a reception for recipients of the Investiture Ceremonies held on 7 and 8 September 2026 at Government House, Canberra.
